The following can be attributed to WA Police Union President Harry Arnott:
In the early hours of this morning, two of our Members were involved in a shooting incident in Yanchep.
As soon as we were notified of the incident, the Senior Vice President and I attended the scene to ensure the health and welfare of our Members was looked after.
Thankfully due to their professionalism and training our Members were not injured and are coping well given what they have been through.  This is yet another illustration of the unique and dangerous work police officers do every single day.
Given the incident is now subject of an internal investigation, which is standard practice, we cannot provide any further details at this time.
We will continue to assist our Members throughout the process as their welfare is our paramount concern.
