The WA Police Union is pleased the corruption charges against Senior Sergeant Christina Johnston have been dropped.
We have supported our Member through the entire ordeal since the charges were laid in 2018.
Union President Harry Arnott said today was a great day for Senior Sergeant Johnston and police officers across the state.
“This is a fantastic outcome for Christina, ending two years of hell for her and her family,” he said.
"She has been damaged personally, financially and emotionally by this ordeal and the fact that it reached the courts in the first place is absolutely appalling.”
Mr Arnott said WA Police Force needed to urgently review its internal investigation processes.
"It's about time the WA Police Force stopped worrying about what the Corruption and Crime Commission might think and just do its job. Our police officers are of the highest integrity and they deserve to be supported by their employer instead of being treated like second class citizens.”
